Go to a Autozone store and find the Rear view mirror glue. Then look on the package for a phne # and call them to find out what breaks down that glue. I have yanked real hard and had a success rate of about 85%.

They are sold to optometrists by several different companies and have different names. We use a product called Mydrispecs. Mydri from word mydriasis (dilation) specs from the word spectacles. I do not know of any source where you could buy these lenses not being an optometrist. If you have a good relationship with your eye doctor, though, you could probably go in and he would just give you a pair.
25 pounds is actually not that heavy and you should be able to use drywall anchors even if you do not hit studs, but you should use at least two or three spaced anchors. If you can screw into studs then that is even better.

Sounds like you just bought the wrong mirror… it should have just slid right on with a *click*. Of course now that you've pulled off the track, that complicates things a bit. I don't know what kind of epoxy is used to mount the track but it would probably need to be replaced, then the correct mirror mounted. As much as I hate to say this, you may want to check with your dealer to see if they can unwind your repair. If they have a good service department, they should be willing to give you some free advice so you can possibly do the work yourself. Good luck.

you want to try taking the back of the peice apart to expose the mirror and frame- then you can determine why its loose, if its just space between the frame and mirror edge like you say its a quick fix. you can use either metal or wood shim peices put into the sides of the frame to make the mirror snuggly fit in the center of the frame. your best bet is a home depot or hardware store- check out the window section where you can find small metal shims that are used to keep the glass in window frames, or you can even ask for wood shims which you will need to cut with a razor blade to size and shove into the extra space on both sides, you can also try a craft store where they often have fillers used in framing art.
it shouldnt be a hard task once you find something the right size to take up the space, just remeber to leave a smal 1/32" space on each side to allow for any natural movement of the frame. and carefully reattch the back of the frame, maybe buy new nails or stops.
